Quartz Countertops – Facts and Benefits
Quartz is a great all-around surface for kitchen countertops. Quartz countertops keeps their lustrous gloss and ultra-smooth surface without polishing. They are non-porous and will never need sealing. Even though it is an engineered material, quartz countertops are made of natural quartz and are therefore unique in colors and patterns. Variation in the natural stone color, pattern, size, shape and shade are inherent to the type of quartz.
Quartz countertops are the ideal surface for hygienic food preparation. In particular, PRO-TOPS quartz’ antimicrobial properties boast bacteriostatic protection. When properly cleaned, quartz surfaces are virtually bacteria free.Quartz countertops are naturally resistant to surface staining from cooking oils, wine, coffee, etc.
Quartz countertops are highly heat resistant. However, all countertop surfaces can have a reaction to extreme heat. We highly recommend that you use a trivet or hot-pad to insure protection for any countertop surface from heated cookware. Do not use crock pots or electric skillets while in direct contact with quartz countertops. Quartz is a stone product. As with any natural stone, certain exposure to heat may cause damage due to thermal shock.
